Renting Your Residential Home Property

If you have made it this far then you must be at the very least, curious about renting your home or vacation rental.  Either that, or you are lost!  Simply put, I have compiled (and always updating) the most information that I could on “How Do I Rent My Home / Vacation Rental”.

I have one reason for doing this…I want to make your learning curve much shorter than mine was on this topic!  That is it!  And I must confess, it gives me an outlet to talk and rant, something that my friends say I do entirely too much!

Seriously, it is not something that is difficult.  It is something that, once you know what to do and where to look, takes a relatively short period of time.  My biggest problem was that I had only a inkling of what to do, and from there I fumbled along for months, literally months, 5 or 6 I believe!

We had just purchased a vacation home for rental purposes and since I am in marketing, it was my task to get it “out on the market”.  I immediately went to the web and started my research.  The biggest season for this area is the summer and it was already June so I was starting off in the hole.  Over the next few months I slowly started to get inquiries and converted them to rentals.  By the time the season was over, I realized that I hadn’t received the response I wanted, so I jumped back into my research and eventually built an actual system and gameplan to follow.  Something that I could use over and over again with each residential rental property.

At the end of that season we built another vaction rental, but this time I knew that by the time it was built, we would have it completely rented out, as well as the first one.  And we did!  It was great to have that system to follow!  In as little as 3 weeks I had the second home listed and within 3 months it was booked for the upcoming summer season.  And by summer season, I mean June through August, and a little of September!  Now we had two homes, completely rented for 3 months each, during the peak season, even before the season had started.

It was a this time I realized that we needed to share this information with everyone who wanted to learn about the residential home rental market.  Here it is and more!  Even with our rental system, there is so much more to know about residential & commercial property markets.   This blog gives us one central site to go to for the best information in our industry possible!

So sign up, log in, email us if you need, and add your comments and share your experiences.  I hope that we will shorten your “learning curve” on residential home rentals.  Because the quicker you get your home rented the more money you will make!

Regards,

Michael
